Gozo SPCA is organising an open day and Christmas fayre today between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. It will be held near to the Gozo SPCA shelter, at the football training ground at the back of The Duke shopping mall in Victoria.

The public will be able to meet dogs, cats and kittens which are available for rehoming.

There will be stalls selling Christmas cards, calendars, bric a brac, Christmas gifts, preserves, plants, books, etc. There will also be pony rides and a corner for children.

At 10.30 a.m. Parliamentary Secretary Chris Said will draw the name of the next village for the free-owned pet neutering project followed by the launching of a new multi purpose van.

Members of the public will have the opportunity to be a judge during a dog show. The star judge will be animal lover and TV presenter Moira Delia.

Other activities will include displays by the Civil Protection Department and the Red Cross.
