First official details on the convertible Fiat 500 have been leaked onto the internet before the car's official launch at the Geneva motor show next month. The Fiat 500C features an electronically operated canvas roof that slides right back to the car's boot lid, meaning trendy cool types can sunbathe while they cruise around Milan.
And technically speaking, this targa-style soft-top arrangement allows the 500's C-pillars to stay in place, meaning the car's structural rigidity should barely be compromised.
That means the open top could be as accomplished to drive as the standard 500.
Engines are likely to include the 1.2- and 1.4-litre petrol units along with the very economical 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel.
We expect the Fiat 500C to be priced well below the Mini Convertible when it goes on sale in Europe later this year, too.
