On Wednesday, employees from eight organisations will volunteer a day's work to help charitable institutions on Corporate Social Responsibility Day, organised annually on March 19, now in its seventh year.

Deloitte, Gasan Group of Companies, HSBC Malta, M. Demajo Group, Middlesea Group, Mizzi Organisation, Simonds Farsons Cisk plc and the Vodafone Malta Foundation will get together to carry out structural works, refurbishment, maintenance and landscaping in various homes hosting adults and children from difficult backgrounds.

This year, volunteers from M. Demajo Group will carry out maintenance works at St Patrick's School in Sliema. Simonds Farsons Cisk and Mizzi Organisation will be helping at Dar Vairita in Marsascala, while Deloitte staff will be carrying out works at Għabex in Fleur-de-Lys. Vodafone Malta employees will be working at Angela House in Guardamangia, Gasan Group at the Richmond Foundation Hostel in Floriana, and Middlesea Group at St Joseph Home in St Venera.

HSBC Malta will be helping the Good Shepherd Home for Refugees in Balzan, while HSBC staff in Gozo will be carrying out works at Arka Foundation in Gozo.

"CSR Day has become an important entry in the calendar of events of participating organisations, which are on the increase," said the organising committee.

"This joint effort is meant to show that we care and that we want to provide a helping hand to homes looking after disadvantaged people in our society, giving them the decent life they deserve."
