A social services agreement between Malta and New Zealand, signed in July, came into force this month.

Social Policy Minister Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca said that in terms of the agreement, Maltese who had lived in New Zealand and returned to Malta after making social security contributions in both countries  would receive their pensions in Malta.
