The Southern Staffordshire Chamber of Commerce product showcase is open until Tuesday at the Malta Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise, Republic Street, Valletta.

It will be open from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. except for tomorrow, when it will be open between 9 a.m. and noon.

Power Cut

The electricity supply will be suspended today in Tal-Bidnija and Zebbiegh areas between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Plants And Crafts Exhibition

The Malta Horticultural Society will put on an exhibition of plants and crafts at the Valletta Waterfront in aid of the Malta Hospice Movement at the Magazino Hall next to the Powerhouse Theatre from tomorrow to Sunday.

A number of participants will be exhibiting various pot plants, Maltese olive oil, Maltese preserved vegetables and fruit, honey, bees-wax and sugar-craft. Other craftwork such as ganutell, gold embroidery and cross-stitch will also be on show. Other types of craft will be on display such as monastery work, sculptures and paintings.

The exhibition is open tomorrow from 10.30 a.m. to 7.30 p.m., Saturday from 10.30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Entrance is free of charge.

Vice President Of European Surveyors

Randolph Camilleri, president of the Land Surveyors' Society Malta (LSSM), was elected vice president of the European Group of Surveyors (EGOS). during the organisation's General Assembly held recently in Berlin.

Mr Camilleri was nominated by the German group Verband Deutscher Vermessungsingenieure e.V. (VDV)

The European Group of Surveyors was established in 1989 to represent European surveying professionals in all areas of activity including non-geodetic surveying. It has members across Europe and is recognised and partly funded by the European Union.

Mr Camilleri represents the Land Surveyors' Society at the International Federation of Surveyors and the Council of European Geodetic Surveyors.

Sustainable Tourism Workshop

A workshop on Developing A Standard For Sustainable Tourism In The Mediterranean will be held at the Foundation for International Studies in Valletta today.

The workshop is part of a project in which Cyprus, Greece, Italy, and Malta are taking part.

The project is supported by the EU's Interreg IIIB Archimed Programme.

All those involved in the tourist industry are invited to the workshop. Participation is free of charge.

Eucharistic Celebration

A Eucharistic celebration will be held by the Diocesan Committee of Our Lady of Fatima at the Home for the Clergy, Anglu Grima Street, Fleur-de-Lys, Birkirkara on February 3 starting with Mass at 4 p.m.

The rosary will be recited after the Mass in the presence of the Holy Eucharist, exposed on the altar, and finally Benediction will be imparted.

Mission Fund Bazaar

The Mission Fund will hold a bazaar at Sperry, Labour Avenue, Naxxar between February 1 and 3 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A number of items, including household goods, will be on sale.

Those who have items they would like to donate to the bazaar may do so by calling 2141 3664 and making an appointment on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Funds will go towards people in Third World countries.
