Obituary

PORTELLI. On April 2, at St Vincent de Paul residence, JOSEPHINE (Jessie), aged 92, passed away peacefully to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her four daughters Doris and her husband Giovanni, Josephine and her husband Charles, Yvonne, widow of Larry and Maria and her husband Joe, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her sister and brother, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St Vincent de Paul residence today at 3 p.m. for St Augustine's church, Tarxien, where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 3.30 p.m., followed by interment at Tal-Erwieh Cemetery, Tarxien. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

PULLICINO. On April 3, at his residence in St Paul's Bay, ROGER, aged 54, (proprietor Balzan Video Centre) comforted by the rites of the Holy Church, after a brave fight with cancer. Deeply mourned by his beloved wife Mary née McArthur, his daughter Kathleen and her boy- friend Alistair, his mother Yvonne, his brothers and sisters Neville, Leslie and Anna, Ruth and Godwin, Edna and Antoine, Ivy and Franklyn, Patrick and Aurial, Marthese and Marco, Nadia and John, Sylvana and David, his in-laws in Scotland, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P. The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital on Monday, April 9 at 8 a.m. for Balzan parish church where Mass praesent cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m. followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Couple Win Wedding Rings

A visit to the Maltapost stand at the recent Weddings Fair held at the Trade Fair Grounds in Naxxar, had a lucky ending for Claudia Attard from Luqa and her husband-to-be Rodney Muscat from Luqa.

The couple won a pair of wedding rings in a draw for visitors.

The Maltapost stand promoted personalised stamps during the fair and visitors making enquiries were presented with a sample sheet of these stamps, besides having their names included in a draw for the wedding rings, donated by Pavillion Jewellers.

Bowling For Children

The Malta Sports Council in collaboration with the Eden SuperBowl and the Malta Tenpin Bowling Association hosts Skolasport bowling sessions every Saturday morning during the scholastic year.

Skolasport, which is sponsored by Kellogg's, gives children a two-hour session of training in all aspects of the sport of tenpin bowling. Holy Week activities

Easter Mass
The Bishop of Gozo and Dean of St George's Collegiate Chapter, Mgr Mario Grech will be leading the traditional concelebrated Pontifical High Mass together with the chapter and clergy of Victoria at St George's Basilica on Easter Sunday at 11 a.m.
The liturgy will be animated by the Laudate Pueri choir led by Rev. George Joseph Frendo.

Statues exhibition

Life-size statues made by Paul Aquilina are on display at the Fleur-de-Lys feast committee premises in Vlontin Street, Fleur-de-Lys until Friday. It will be open today from 6.30 to 8.30 p.m., tomorrow (Maundy Thursday) from 7.30 p.m. to midnight and on Good Friday from 8 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

Entrance is free.

Good Friday costumes exhibition

An exhibition of costumes used during the Good Friday procession at the St Mary of Jesus, Ta' Giezu church, in Valletta, and artefacts related to the passion of Christ will be held at the Ta' Giezu Centre tomorrow from 8 p.m. and on Good Friday between 9 a.m. and noon.

Peter and the Passion of Christ

A Holy Week exhibition is being held at the Vocations Group Centre situated behind the church in Xaghra.

The exhibition focuses on the apostle Peter throughout the passion of Christ.

It will be open tomorrow from 8 p.m., on Good Friday between 9.30 a.m. and noon and 5.30 to 10.30 p.m., on Saturday between 5 and 9 p.m. and on Easter Sunday from 6.30 to 8 p.m.

Death of Christ

An exhibition on the main episodes leading to the death of Christ is open at the convent of St Dominic in Vittoriosa. The opening hours are: tomorrow between 9.30 a.m. and noon, 5.30 to 11.30 p.m.; Good Friday between 9 a.m. and noon and 4.30 and 8 p.m. and on Easter Sunday between 9 a.m. and noon.

Church visits

The St Paul's Bay local council in conjunction with the Socio-Cultural Institute will be organising transport on Friday to visit seven churches in Senglea, Cospicua, Vittoriosa, Paola, Zabbar, Fgura and Kalkara.

Departure will be at 8 a.m. returning at 1 p.m. The price is Lm1 for residents and Lm1.50 for non-residents.
