Obituary
MILES TESTAFERRATA BONICI. On July 2 at St James Capua Hospital, HELEN, aged 88, widow of Arthur Malcolm Miles, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her nephew Nicholas, her nieces Agnés, Irene, Caren and Annamaria with their respective husbands, her great-nephews and great-nieces, other relatives and friends, and her devoted carers. The funeral cortege will leave her residence today at 9.45 a.m. for the Metropolitan Cathedral of St Peter and St Paul in Mdina, where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 10 a.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi, will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. Lord grant her eternal rest.
PACE. On July 4, at Sir Paul Boffa Hospital, PAWLA, aged 67, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Philip, her children Tony, Marthese, Charles and Josianne, their respective wives, husband and fiancé, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Sir Paul Boffa Hospital at 1.30 p.m. today for the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes in Paola, where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 2 p.m. followed by interment at Sta Maria Addolorata Cemetery. XERRI - FRANZ X., 5.7.'42-23.2.'04. Remembered with affection, respect and admiration on this first birthday we cannot share together. His twin brother Charles.
ZAMMIT - FRANCOIS. So suddenly passed away two years ago. Very sadly missed and lovingly remembered. His wife Therese, daughters Mireille and Veronique, his brother Etienne, other relatives and numerous friends.
Photographic Competition
The Naxxar Nationalist Party committee is organising a photographic competition related to the cultural heritage of Naxxar under the patronage of the Malta Photographic Society.
The competition is open to the public and each participant may submit a maximum of five entries in each of the sections of monochrome and colour prints.
The first prize will be a cash voucher for Lm75 and a cash voucher for Lm50 will be awarded as second prize in each section.
The closing date is August 24.

Art Club 2000 Exhibition
The Art Club 2000 is organising another art and sculpture exhibition in the Red Tower, l/o Ghadira from next Saturday to July 18.
The aim of the Art Club 2000 is to promote and exhibit local talents in the 17th century Red Tower.

Taxation Seminar
Bank of Valletta, the Malta Business Bureau and the financial services trade section of the Malta Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise have teamed up for the organisation of a half-day seminar that will address the EU Directive on Taxation on Savings Income. The seminar will be held on July 16 at the Exchange Buildings, in Valletta and will start at 9 a.m.
The registration fee for the seminar is Lm15. A reduced rate of Lm5 is applicable for members of the Malta Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise, the Malta Federation of Industry and the Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association.

Dance Course
Flamenco dancer Francesca Grima is holding a dance course at the Alegria Academia Flamenca in Ta' Xbiex. The course will consist of technique classes in the mornings and two distinct choreography classes in the evenings.
Rhythm and compass classes will also be conducted by flamenco percussionist Andrej Vujicic. The course, spread over seven days, will give an insight into the complex art of
Flamenco, the discipline it entails, as well as its temperamental and expressive Andalusian attitude.

Orchestral Concert
The National Orchestra (leader Marcelline Agius) under its conductor Michael Laus, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Culture and the Malta Council for Arts and Culture, will be holding a concert at the President's Palace Courtyard, in Valletta next Friday at 9 p.m. Entrance is free.
The programme will include Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 1 entitled Winter Dreams.
