I refer to the letter Bypass The By-pass by Richard Abela (December 15).
It seems we Maltese deserve to be the quasi Third World country we are. First, we interminably criticise each successive government regarding the appalling state of the roads then when a decent road is finally built we write letters in the paper asking "... why a stretch as wide as an airport runway? Do we have so much land to spare in an ever shrinking countryside?" Some people are never satisfied it seems.
I just hope everyone heeds Mr Abela's advice to "bypass the by-pass". It would give me and other grateful drivers the chance to enjoy a nice, smooth stretch of road even more.
