Members of the English rock band Smokie started arriving in Malta yesterday and will all be here by late tonight for an open air concert at the Ghaxaq grounds tomorrow.

The concert is part of this year Ghaxaq Music Festival.

Addressing a news conference, lead guitarist Mick McConnell hoped that the concert will be 'wild'.

Smokie have sold over 30 million CDs, records and albums and had 13 top twenty hits during the 1970s.

The popular song "Living Next Door To Alice" has sold over 10 million copies worldwide.
