The administration of Mater Dei has thanked the public for their collaboration in the initiative transforming the hospital into one completely smoke free.

The initiative formed part of the national cancer plan and has now been in effect for the past two months.

The administration also said that a programme aimed to encourage hospital employees to stop smoking was also well received and now that the hospital was completely smoke free more and more people wanted to stop smoking.
