Enemalta has suspended another of its employees as its investigations into the tampering of Smart meters continues. He is the 12th employee to be suspended. Six persons have been taken to court so far, with two pleading guilty and being jailed for two years each.

Enemalta said many of its customers are helping it reveal the abuses by reporting irregularities in their consumption readings.

They may continue to do so up to next Monday, thus avoiding court action although they will have to pay for the stolen electricity stolen and related penalties.
