Mepa has approved a planning application for the development of a small marina in the lagoon area of Valletta Waterfront.

The project consists in the adaptation of the lagoon for the berthing of 37 vessels varying in length from eight to 15 metres. The berths will be installed on the harbour side of the lagoon, facing Pinto stores. They will be set against a floating pontoon adjacent to the existing quay. The project also includes the construction of sanitary facilities and an office.

The board warned Valletta Waterfront to regularize its position regarding service provider booths and awnings installed along the promenade without permission

The Mepa board also granted an outline permit for the development of a warehousing complex in a designated Area of Containment in Mosta. The complex will incorporate 15 warehouses, a reception and canteen area, administration offices and underground car parking facilities.
