Slovenia captain Robert Koren insists his side will not be looking to avenge last year's friendly defeat by England when the two meet again next week.
And he expects the World Cup to provide a level playing field after suggesting Fabio Capello's side benefited from home advantage when it came to refereeing decisions at Wembley last September.
Frank Lampard scored a dubious penalty after Wayne Rooney tumbled too easily under a challenge from Bostjan Cesar and substitute Jermain Defoe added a second before Zlatan Ljubijankic pulled one back for the visitors, who made life difficult for England at times.
However, Koren does not expect England to be as fortunate with the officials when they face each other in their final Group C match in Port Elizabeth a week tomorrow.
"We played a friendly against them in September and we showed them that we are good enough and this time we will give them an even better game," Koren told Press Association Sport.
"Honestly, I think we will get some points from this game. If you look at the match at Wembley the first goal they scored was from the penalty spot.
"The referee was a bit under pressure but when you are playing a friendly against England at Wembley that happens.
"But in the World Cup it is a bit different; everyone is treated the same and I am really pleased with that.
"We do not think we have to avenge that defeat but we will prepare ourselves well.
"We will do everything to get three points to show everyone in the world we are good enough."
The former West Brom midfielder, who spent three and a half years in England before being released by the Baggies at the end of this season, added: "But we are not thinking about England too much and I'm not really bothered who I come up against.
"Our coaching staff will give us all the information about them. They have a big squad and good players - everyone has quality - but we have quality also.
"It will be a special game for our team and we will give them a really good game and try to win."
Prior to that, however, is a match against the United States on Friday.
With Slovenia top of the group courtesy of their 1-0 win over Algeria, another victory would put them through to the knockout stages.
And Koren said he saw nothing to fear in the USA's draw with England.
"Both teams put in a lot of energy but there were a lot of mistakes," said the 29-year-old.
"We saw good things and bad things and our coaching staff will try to get as much information out of that as possible.
"We have confidence after the win against Algeria and we will give them both a good game.
"Hopefully after the match with the USA we will still be top of the group."
