Sliema Wanderers’ playmaker Pedrinho has been handed a three-match ban by the Malta FA disciplinary commissioner.

The mercurial Brazilian received a straight red card in the first half of Sliema’s 1-0 defeat to Balzan on Saturday for deliberately hitting midfielder Luke Sciberras in the face.

Six other Premier League players have been suspended for one match.

Birkirkara’s Joseph Zerafa has been punished after seeing red for two yellow cards in the goalless stalemate against Floriana while team-mate Paul Fenech received a one-match ban for four yellow cards.

Floriana winger Steve Pisani, Mosta striker Hassan Yau, Sliema defender Luke Dimech and Llywelyn Cremona, the Valletta midfielder, were also banned for one match for four yellow cards.
