Sliema Wanderers came from behind to see off Mosta 2-1 at the Hibs Stadium.

The Wanderers dominated proceedings for most of the first half.

On 17 minutes Sliema skipper Alex Muscat sent a dipping cross that was not dealt with by the Mosta defence but Trevor Cilia fired over from routine distance.
On 34 minutes the Wanderers almost struck when Pedrinho released Cilia who turned past his marker but his firm drive was parried away by Omar Borg.

On the restart, Sliema maintained the upperhand but it was Mosta who struck on 57 minutes when Babangida muscled his way past three Sliema defenders before serving Nicoise who immediately returned the ball to the Nigerian who blasted the ball past goalkeeper Glenn Zammit.

The Blues were clearly struggling on 70 minutes Azzopardi withdrew Cilia and roped in Aidan Friggieri.

The Malta U-19 striker immediately left his mark as with his first touch he latched to Pedrinho’s corner-kick to volley the ball past goalkeeper Omar Borg.
Azzopardi effected another change took off Pedrinho and roped in new signing Junior Obagbemiro for Pedrinho.

And the Nigerian also went on to play a vital role as on 83 minutes he latched onto a Djumo Bocar backheel pass before hitting past the diving Borg.

Sliema midfielder Pedrinho was voted as the BOV Player of the match.
