The Sliema council has objected to the removal of more parking spaces from the Qui-si-Sana and Tigné area.

In a statement it said that the latest reduction in parking spaces to create a bus lane in Tigné seafront was unacceptable.

The bus lane would be occupying 62 parking spaces.

The council said it resolved to find a solution to the challenge that Transport Malta had to divert Arriva buses via Qui-si-Sana in view of Bisazza Street's pedestrianisation, however, no solutions should create an even bigger problem.

"Parking is the council's number one priority and the council had to consider the effect on parking in all its decisions.

The council said that it was never consulted with regard to the removal of parking spaces and it disapproved of the decision.
