Parliamentary Secretary Mario Galea inaugurated a Skype service at Mellieha Day Centre today, in a project carried out in collaboration with Mellieha Local Council

He noted that 16,000 people aged between 65 and 74 years had a computer at home last year, according to an NSO survey. Around 4,700 seniors used the internet to purchase a service online.

Mr Galea said that the Mellieha day centre was one of the most active centres,providing a podology service, dance lessons, Keep fit, use of computers, crafts, talks and bingo.

It also offers physical exercises sessions twice a week organised by the Malta Council for Sport.
