Xewkija council, conscious of the pivotal economic importance that tourism holds in the Gozitan economy, has decided to embark on the project SIGHT, under the Leonardo Da Vinci Programme.

The project will support 18 young workers who are currently attending part-time courses at the ITS (Institute for Tourism Studies) or are working on a full-time basis in the tourism/ hospitality sector, embark on a four-week learning experience related to various aspects of the tourism and hospitality sectors.

This experience, which will enhance customer-related skills coupled with an increased ability to work in the tourism sector, will be shared in Valencia (Spain), Castelvenere (Italy) and Seinjoki (Finland).

The selection process will be conducted by the Xewkija council together with ITS.

The council invites interested people to contact Monica Vella (mayor) or Ruben Cassar (executive secretary) on 2155 8822 or on 2156 5719 or for more information by not later than March 14.
