A total of 64 new foreign direct investment projects have been approved since June 2013, Investment Minister Chris Cardona said in Parliament.

These were ICT, aviation, manufacturing, pharma-ceutical, bio-medical, environment and waste management projects.

Twenty of them have already started operating from 14 private sites, while six others have been allocated factory spaces in Malta Industrial Parks industrial estates.

Answering a PQ by Claudio Grech (PN), Dr Cardona added that between 2011 and 2012, 11 projects had been approved, of which six had started operating with a total employment of 14.
