October had an average temperature of 23°C, which was 2.3° warmer than the climate norm, Malta Airport’s Meteorological Office said today.

This made it the sixth warmest October since 1922.

The mean temperature was below the norm only in some of the last days of the month.

The warmest day was registered on October 1 with a maximum temperature of 30.4°C.

The lowest was 15.5°C on October 26.

Met Office records show that the highest temperature ever reached in October was 34.5°C on October 27, 1999 while the lowest temperature was 8°C on October 30, 1978.
