A total of 3,901 students started University of Malta for the academic year 2017/218 – with six out of every 10 being women.

This brings the number of full-time students to 8,733, and of part-time to 2,547.

The information was given by Education Minister Evarist Bartolo in reply to Parliamentary Questions by MP Byron Camilleri.

There are also 1,890 students attending the Ġ. F. Abela Junior College in Msida, 925 of whom enrolled this year, while the Giovanni Curmi Higher Secondary in Naxxar has 1,818 students.
