Siggiewi lifted the Louis Borg Cup for the first time in their history yesterday by virtue of their slim 120-118 aggregate victory over BUPA Luxol. Having obtained an unexpected passage to the final after their protest against the result of their semi-final defeat to Pembroke Tumas Group was upheld by the MBA Protests' Board, BUPA Luxol had success within their sights on several occasions yesterday only to be undone by their errors in crucial moments. Siggiewi lost the second leg 52-56 but were declared overall winners after they had taken a six-point lead in the first leg, 68-62. There were no surprises in the Louis Borg Cup women's final as Depiro wrapped up their second consecutive success with a comfortable 53-46 defeat of Luxol for an aggregate win of 117-89.
