Sliema Wanderers's adventure in this season's Europa League came to an end today after the Wanderers succumbed to a 3-0 defeat to Croatian side in the first qualifying round second leg match at the Centenary Stadium.

The Croatians progressed to the next round 3-0 on aggregate. After a goalless first half, in which Sliema goalkeeper Viktor Szentpeteri stood out with a string of fine saves, the Croatians took the upperhand after the interval scoring three times without reply.

Ivan Medvid put Sibenik ahead after 64 minutes before Antonio Jakolis made it 2-0 on 74 minutes. Any hopes Sliema might have had of a recovery ended on 78 minutes when Ian Azzopardi was dismissed after shooting the ball at a recovering opponent.

Sibenik wrapped the match a minute from time when Ante Bulant made it 3-0.
