Meusac has launched an information measure - ‘Showcasing EU Funds’ - which is to be spread out in various localities in Malta and Gozo over the next six months.
Four giant star-shaped structures have been constructed with the aim of displaying information relating to projects that have been awarded EU funding, some of which have also been successful as a result of Meusac’s assistance in the application stages.
The following is the schedule of the ‘star’ installations for the next six months:
December (2011) – February |
February – April |
April – June
|
Valletta Waterfront |
St George’s Square Valletta |
St John’s Square Valletta
|
Tower Road Sliema Promenade |
Tigne’ Point Piazza Sliema |
Baystreet St Julian’s
|
University Quadrangle Msida |
Triq ix-Xatt Marsaskala |
Xatt is-Sajjieda Marsaxlokk
|
It-Tokk Victoria Gozo |
St George’s Square Victoria Gozo |
Triq Santa Marija Marsalforn Gozo
|
The stars are more than five metres long and one metre wide and a little less than three metres high. The structure is also animated with a pulsing light at night to give the impression that the installation is glowing.
The structures will also be serving as interactive street furniture having incorporated benches as well as integrated Wi-Fi hotspots.
They were designed by university students Nicolò Bencini, Francesca Camilleri and Jonathan Borg who won a national design competition organised earlier on this year by Meusac.
