The hunting federation’s statement that it would seek legal means to reverse a No to spring hunting decision in the April 11 referendum was “surprising and shocking”, the Spring Hunting Out said in a statement.
It said that FKNK president Joe Perici Calascione made his statement on national television during a Broadcasting Authority news conference.
“An abrogative referendum is a decision taken by the people, a democratic process undertaken with full respect for the country’s law,” Shout said adding it was convinced that the government and any political party would respect the people’s verdict.
SHout maintained that such attitude was clear proof that the hunters’ federation had still not grasped the basic concept that the people’s will was supreme in a democracy.
