The video Shine a light – understanding ADHD has been released. This short documentary is about what ADHD (Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder) is all about, both from a personal and a clinical perspective.

This initiative aims to help young people and adults diagnosed with ADHD, or who suspect they have ADHD, as well as their family and friends, to understand the condition better. It also hopes to raise funding for more research to better understand ADHD.

“Understanding the nature of the problem is going to reduce stigma and reduce blame and it’s going to reduce self-stigma and self-blame,” according to Prof. Eric Taylor, child and adolescent psychiatrist at King’s College, London.

This video coincides with the last day of the international ADHD awareness month and was created through the collaboration between four EU-funded, international consortia of researchers that are investigating ADHD and its origins – MiND, Aggressotype, CoCA and Eat2BeNICE – and 4QFilms.
