In his last season as a player, Alan Shearer claimed Newcastle's best ever scoring accolade with a magnificent total of 206 in all competitions.

The previous record of 200 goals belonged to Jackie Milburn who passed away in 1988, aged 64.

Shearer equalled Milburn's record by netting his 200th goal for the Magpies in a 1-0 FA Cup win over Mansfield at St James' Park.

His 201st arrived in the home Premier League victory (2-0) over Portsmouth.

Shearer, whose Newcastle debut arrived at Goodison Park against Everton on August 17, 1996, claimed his 206 goals as follows:
