The number of persons registering for work in June stood at 5,209 compared to 6,751 in the corresponding month last year, the NSO said today.
The drop of job seekers was recorded among all age groups.
The largest decrease was recorded among persons who had been registering for over one yea. The number of persons with a disability who were registering for work also decreased by 84 to 409.
The largest share of men on the unemployment register sought occupations as crafts and related trade workers (18.6 per cent), whereas their female counterparts mostly sought occupations as clerical support workers (28.1 per cent).
