With Ramis sitting 18 points clear at the top of the Middlesea League and only three more fixtures remaining, it's hard to imagine they won't be crowned champions at season's end, despite being held by Globalair to a 4-4 draw in a week 15 match.

The once-mighty Fina suffered an 8-0 drubbing at the hands of Turu's Knights (sixth), and there was also a full-point win for fifth-placed HSBC against Royal Shock who are now seventh.

Bottom side Calamatta Cuschieri Co. were beaten 6-2 by Salitos, who are also staring relegation in the face, while the second draw of the week resulted from the match between okmalta.com and PharmaVet.

Leaders Ramis shared the spoils with outgoing champions Globalair. Ramis took the early lead with a 799-749 game one victory, and they were then four up after game two which they also won with a lower 737-704 score.

Ramis's performance continued to wane as the final game got underway, and that went to Globalair 687-807, the latter's big final effort handing them the series points, and the draw (2,223-2,260).

Fina were always the 'team to beat' prior to this season, their poorest in many years, but were easily beaten by Turu's Knights in their last match.

Fina showed little of their glory-days form with only youngster Justin Caruana Scicluna producing a top-flight performance with his 610 individual series.

The Knights won game one 762-730, before doubling their lead with a 729-698 win. They rounded off the drubbing with a great 845 effort against Fina's 710.

Bowlers of the week: Sammy Borg (HSBC) 660; Melissa Swift (PharmaVet) 588.

Standings: Ramis 94, okmalta.com 76, Globalair 68, Fina 68, HSBC 60, Turu's Knights 60, Royal Shock 54, PharmaVet 54, Salitos 38, Calamatta Cuschieri Co. 28.
