A police officer has been given a 'severe warning' after he was heard saying at Rabat police station that he wanted to get rid of all Nationalist policemen from that station.

Replying to a parliamentary question by Nationalist MP Jason Azzopardi, Home Affairs Minister Manuel Mallia said an investigation had been concluded. The warning given to the officer is to be noted in his personal record.

In his question Dr Azzopardi had asked about what authority the officer had to say he wanted to get rid of all Nationalist police officers and that now that Labour was in government, he could do whatever he wished, and the Police Commissioner listened to what he said.
