As a foreigner living in Malta, I was fascinated by the coverage of the Sette Giugno centenary and the incident’s role in shaping Maltese culture. However, I was left confused by two articles appearing side by side which seem to contradict each other. Charles Xuereb’s ‘Afterlife of Sette Giugno’ states that six civil, unarmed Maltese men were felled in the very same day while the editorial opposite says that four people were killed in two days.
