Senglea this afternoon won the traditional September 8 regatta, held in Grand Harbour.

They garnered 88 points, winning all five Category A races.

This was the 19th time that Senglea won the coveted shield. Their victory was celebrated by hundreds of supporters who crowded vantage points at Senglea Point and draped orange and red flags over the bastions.

Birzebbuga won the races for the reserves.

The shield was presented by Education and Sport Minister Dolores Cristina.
