To mark the bicentenary of Giuseppe Garibaldi's birth, the Italian Cultural Institute, in collaboration with the University of Malta, is holding a seminar entitled 'Garibaldi e il Risorgimento, at the institute's premises in Valletta, on Friday from 4.30 to 8 p.m. The seminar will include speeches by Prof. Sergio La Salvia from Università Roma III, President Emeritus Guido de Marco and Dr Domenico Bellato from the Italian Embassy, as well as interventions by Judge Joseph Filletti, Prof. Joseph Eynaud and John Azzopardi Vella. Prof. Henry Frendo from the University of Malta, will co-ordinate and conclude the seminar.

Italian Ambassador Andrea Trabalza will inaugurate the seminar and present Joseph Darmanin with a prize that he won in the paintings exhibition on Garibaldi held during July.
