Monica Seles, sidelined from the WTA Tour since May 2003, was beaten by Martina Navra-tilova in an exhibition match in New Zealand yesterday.

Seles, 31, has been suffering from a foot injury since the 2003 French Open.

The Yugoslav-born American, a winner of nine grand slam titles, has yet to decide whether she will make a full comeback and is testing her fitness in a series of exhibitions.

Navratilova won yesterday's match in Auckland 6-4 6-4.
