The adjudication of tenders for the new operator of the bus service has been suspended after an appeal filed by one of the companies following short-listing based on a technical evaluation.

Transport Malta said that Transdev Plus Consortium and Arriva Malta Consortium have satisfied the requirements of the technical evaluation with Transdev Plus scoring 177.37 out of 185 in the technical analysis and Arriva 122.51.

The completion of the technical evaluation followed the public opening of four tenders received on February 19.

The two other bidders, namely the Consortium made up of Empresa Montforte SA, La Hispano Igualdina SA Empresa Municipal de Transportes de Madrid SA and FMC Motors Ltd.; and Nex Continental Holdings SLU did not qualify for the next stage of adjudication.

Transport Malta said that Nex Continental Holdsing SLU had appealed the decision.

"As provided in the tender process in cases of appeal, the adjudication process has therefore been suspended pending the outcome of the appeals process. The appeal will be heard by the Public Contracts Appeals Board," Transport Malta said.
