The year that is coming to an end was the EU's Year of Creativity and Innovation. Yet ironically, 2009 was also a year when censorship in all its forms grabbed the local headlines: a play was banned, carnival revellers were arraigned and naked mannequins objected to.

In M magazine, out tomorrow with The Times, Christian Peregin relives a year of censorship and defines the struggle between those who want freedom at all costs and those who fear the cost of freedom.

Last year, 38 grooms and 30 brides over 59 years of age got married. For the Male Perspective series, Davinia Hamilton meets two men who got married late in life to see whether falling in love is hard on the knees at that age.

On the same subject of marriage, Giselle Scicluna joins two men on their stag nights and survives to tell the tale. When the father is a public figure, the son might struggle to get out of his father's shadow. Veronica Stivala interviews three sons to see whether they live in the name of the father.

M also goes backstage with Albert Marshall and shares Christmas memories with authors Trevor Zahra and Charles Casha.

M is produced by MediaMaker Limited and published by Allied Newspapers Limited. Its editor is Stanley Borg.
