Qormi netted two second half goals to ease past Tarxien Rainbows 2-0 and book their place in their first ever Trophy final appearance.

After a balanced first half, in which neither side managed to impose their play, it was Qormi who seized the initiative after the break and it was no surprise when Brazilian striker Camilo fired the Yellows ahead with firm strike after 55 minutes.

Tarxien tried to get back into the match but it was Qormi who hit the target again eight minutes from time when in a quick break Matthew Bartolo unleashed a powerful low drive that flew past Rainbows keeper Anthony Curmi.

Qormi will now face Valletta in Sunday's final after the Citizens had edged past Hamrun Spartans 6-5 on penalties after Monday's semi-final had ended in a goalless draw after extra-time.
