The body of the 44-year-old Charles Brignone from Tarxien, who was reported missing after he went snorkelling yesterday afternoon, has been found.

Distraught family and friends are waiting for a patrol boat to take the body to shore.

The search for Mr Brignone started yesterday afternoon by the Armed Forces of Malta but only his float was found. It was stopped at night but the patrol vessel remained on site. The AFM resumed the search early this morning and were joined by members of the Civil Protection Department later in the day.

A joint diving team from the AFM and the CPD found the body off Zonqor point at around 11.15 a.m.
