I was more than satisfied to read that an air link between the two sister islands shall be installed again by May (January 16).

In a letter about this subject on November 8, 2006 I had suggested the use of "...a small to medium-sized boat seaplane that can both take off and land on a runway and on water..."

Since then mainly the option of transforming the Gozo heliport into an airstrip for fixed-wing aircraft was discussed in public.

I am therefore glad and honoured that someone has taken up my idea. Furthermore, I am more than satisfied to read that this new air link shall even be cheaper than past operations and so more attractive to the people.

I am looking forward to seeing the resurrection of a service that had been offered in Malta almost 100 years ago for the last and only time.
