'Love in Diversity', a sculpture exhibition by Mario Agius, is open at art..e Gallery, 1 Library Street, Victoria, till Friday.

Many of the sculptures are inspired from mother and child, family and lovers themes and even human suffering and diversity. Agius's expressionistic and almost primitive approach to the media is visible especially in his wood and weathered limestone sculptures.

Agius (b.1956) began his artistic studies under the late Mgr Michelangelo Apap and furthered his studies in wood sculpture under Anton Agius.

He has a number of sculptures in private collections both locally and abroad including London, Switzerland, Germany and Australia.

In 1989 he continued his studies at the White Knight Gallery in Cheltenham, England, under Ian Norbury.

The exhibition in open Monday to Friday between 9.30 a.m. and 12.15 p.m. On Friday it is open between 5 and 7 p.m.
