The Malta Volleyball Association (MVA), in collaboration with the Sports Promotion Unit (SPU) within the Kunsill Malti għall-Isport, organised a number of Schools Leagues over the past few months.

The aim of these leagues is to promote volleyball in schools and encourage new players to join local clubs so they can take part in local competitions on a regular basis. All secondary schools on the Maltese islands were invited to take part in these leagues which were held at the Cottonera Sports Complex.

Some schools also opted to bring a number of supporters for their league matches, thus making the atmosphere livelier.

The competitions were organised by Charles Gauci, the MVA youth development officer, and Jonathan Attard from the SPU. The matches were officiated by local volleyball coaches and players together with teachers pertaining to the schools taking part.

Another tournament for Forms 1 and 2 is earmarked for April 28.
