Two teenagers from Birmingham have interviewed film star Zac Efron and film director Burr Steers about their new film The Death and Life of Charlie St Cloud.

And they have proof, with the interviews being available for all to see on YouTube.

The teens, 14-year-olds Zara Rahmin and Aanisah Sherbaz, got the opportunity thanks to the Young Ambassadors scheme launched by national education charity Filmclub, to provide young people with the opportunity to get an insight into life behind the camera.

Filmclub, which encourages young people to watch a diverse range of films in after-school film clubs throughout the UK, has selected a group of 35 young people between the age of eight and 17 from its 160,000-strong membership to represent the charity at film industry events as junior reporters.

The Young Ambassadors will act as the voice, eyes and ears of Filmclub. They will get the chance to interview actors and film-makers, report from the red carpet at film events, review films at preview screenings and act as spokespeople for the organisation.

The Young Ambassadors attended a day’s training, ahead of the official launch last Wednesday to hone their interviewing skills in front of the camera.

And several have already been put to work interviewing a host of film industry professionals, including Gemma Arterton, Dominic Cooper, Michael Cera, Anna Kendrick, Bob Hoskins and film director Joe Dante.

To coincide with the launch of the scheme, the charity released a video interview featuring Ms Rahmin and Ms Sherbaz, two of the first Young Ambassadors to complete an assignment.
