Saudi Arabia today announced plans to build the world's tallest tower.
Kingdom Tower, at 3,280ft, will include a hotel, serviced apartments, luxury condominiums and offices, occupying roughly 5.4 million square feet.
It is part of the first phase of Kingdom City, a sprawling project designed to cover a two-square mile area, in the Red Sea city of Jiddah.
The investment firm headed by Saudi billionaire Prince Alwaleed bin Talal has signed a 4.6 billion riyal (£735m) deal with the Saudi Binladen Group to build Kingdom Tower.
