Labour leader Alfred Sant said this evening that while the PN was accusing Labour of experimenting in the education sector because of the reception class proposal, nothing was being said on PN government plans to remove the Junior Lyceums and Junior Lyceum exams.
Dr Sant, who was speaking at a party activity in Zebbug, said the people needed to know of the PN government’s plans, in the interests of honesty and transparency.
In his speech Dr Sant also focused on a report commissioned by the PN in the wake of its 2004 European Parliament defeat. According to that report, one of the reasons for the PN defeat was ministers’ arrogance and how they were seen to be detached from the people and acting for a circle of friends. Four years on, and the situation had only got worse, Dr Sant said.
Near the end of this evening’s activity NET TV crews had to be escorted to their cars by MLP security officials after a commotion broke out. No one was injured.
