Both Balzan and Rabat won their matches to finish on equal points with the Saints but the latter made sure of the top position thanks to a better record in head-to-head encounters.

Balzan and Rabat will play in a decider to determine the other team in Division One next seaon.

Against St Andrew's, San Ġwann only took a minute to underline their intentions of winning the three points when St Andrew's player Jonathan Briscoe White committed a handling infringement inside his box. The defender was red-carded and Sergio Hili opened the score from the spot.

Roberto Brincat made it 2-0 on 12 minutes and Hili added a third on the half-hour mark following a pass from Antoine Zahra.

At the other end, the San Ġwann keeper made fine saves to stop shots by Jeremy Gatt Coleiro but on the stroke of half-time San Ġwann made it 4-0 thanks to a Zahra goal.

San Ġwann eased the pressure after the change of ends and the Saints reduced the arrears on 67 minutes following an own-goal by defender Renie Forace.
