Former students from San Anton School recently launched Malta’s first alumni social networking site – an exclusive online space where ex-students can reconnect with old friends and other Old Antonians with similar interests.

Users must set up a personal profile page with information they wish to share with other former students.

“You can tag interests, industry, employers, country of residence, course, or university, and find other alumni who have tagged the same. You can also search for old classmates and contact them privately or post messages to the whole community,” said Luke Frendo, president of the school’s newly-formed alumni association.

Unlike other networking sites, such as Facebook, the site, created by old Antonian John Camilleri, will not bombard users with requests, spam and friend invitations and will only be open to former students of San Anton School.

Through its 22-year existence, San Anton School has educated more than 1,000 students, many of whom are under 30.

The alumni association, which was formed last year with the aim of reconnecting old Antonians is planning a number of other events for the future and will use the network to keep people updated.
