The Valletta Waterfront will be hosting races by radio-controlled sailing boats and an exhibition of Skoda cars on Sunday.
The boats will be sailed in the Valletta Waterfront laguna, with their owners vying for the Valletta Waterfront Radio Sailing Cup 2009
This category of boats has two controls: a rudder and a winch to control the sails. The rules applied for this competition are the same as those used by the big boats. Sail setting and tactics play a big part when racing.
The regatta will be made up of 12 races and points will be awarded according to finishing positions.
The event, which kicks off at 11 am, is to be run in collaboration with the Malta Model Boats Association.
Concurrently, the Skoda Club Malta will be putting up a display of Skoda cars from the 1960s to the present as part of the Valletta Waterfront’s Roaring Sundays.
The Roaring Sundays are held in collaboration with the Malta Motorsport Federation, Paq Paq TV and M-150 energy drink.
