Algeria coach Rabah Saadane has agreed "in principle" to continue as coach of the national team, the APS news agency reported on Thursday, despite the team's World Cup first round elimination.

"I have given my agreement in principle to the president of the Algerian football federation (FAF) Mohamed Raouraoua to continue my job as national team coach," said Saadane.

Algeria suffered two defeats in their group matches at the World Cup but claimed a creditable 0-0 draw with England.

They will play a friendly at Gabon on August 11 before starting out on their 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in September with a game against Tanzania.
