Another player who is looking overseas to further his waterpolo career is Ryan Mock.

The 19-year old, currently a Sirens player, was a regular for the St Paul's Bay team last season after he joined them from Neptunes. He was also selected to the Malta Under-19 squad last summer.

Mock is now with Rari Nantes Sori, a Serie A1 team from Genova and playing regularly for their Under-20 team.

Last summer the lad, who is the grandson of well-known ex-San Ġiljan and Malta goalkeeper Charlie Mock, was approached by Marco Risso, the Sori coach then guiding San Ġiljan, and eventually joined the Italian side where he hopes to stay until the end of May.

The Maltese player has so far made five friendly pre-season appearances against second division teams and has managed to score 12 goals. He is being deployed by Risso in the centre and in positions 4 or 5 on man-ups.

His training schedule extends to six hours daily between morning and afternoon sessions. The Under-20 league is due to start early next month and the player is looking forward to his new assignment.

Currently, another team from Genova, RN Bogliasco, have Steve Camilleri in their ranks. This is the Neptunes' player second successive season with the Serie A1 team, for whom he finished as top scorer in 2009.
