A 33-year-old Russian cook, Kristijan Zekic, was accused in court today of having helped hide the body of Eleonor Mangion Walker after she was murdered in a Swieqi garage early last month.

The body was found in a warehouse in Qormi and her estranged husband was subsequently accused of the murder.

Zekic was also accused of jumping bail related to a separate case.

He pleaded not guilty and the court turned down a request for bail.

The 33-year-old mother's body was discovered wrapped in a plastic bag and hidden under some wooden pallets in a Qormi warehouse on July 3. An autopsy revealed she had died due to grievous head injuries inflicted by a hard object. The murder weapon has yet to be found.
